{"id":10176,"date":"2010-09-08T15:25:24","date_gmt":"2010-09-08T22:25:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=10176"},"modified":"2010-09-08T15:26:23","modified_gmt":"2010-09-08T22:26:23","slug":"biller-and-sussman-drama-pilot-in-the-works","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2010\/09\/biller-and-sussman-drama-pilot-in-the-works\/","title":{"rendered":"Biller And Sussman Drama Pilot In The Works"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TNT has picked up the pilot for <em>Perception<\/em>, a new drama written by <strong>Kenneth Biller <\/strong>and<strong> Mike Sussman<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Perception<\/em> was one of three potential series pilots chosen; the other two being an untitled <strong>Allan Loeb<\/strong> crime project and <em>Dallas<\/em>, an updated version of the classic TV series which ran from 1978-1991.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a href=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/Biller090810.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-10177\" title=\"Biller090810\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/Biller090810.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"140\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>The press release explains <em>Perception<\/em> as follows: &#8220;Executive producer Kenneth Biller <em>(Star Trek: Voyager, Legend of the Seeker<\/em>) and co-executive producer Mike Sussman (<em>Star Trek: Voyager<\/em>) penned the pilot for this drama about Dr. Geoffrey Pierce, an eccentric neuroscientist who uses his unique outlook to help the federal government solve complex cases.\u00a0 With an intimate knowledge of human behavior and a masterful understanding of the mind, this quirky, crime-solving doctor pulls lessons from an odd and imaginative view of the world.\u00a0 This pilot is being produced by ABC Studios.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Biller was a writer and producer on <em>Star Trek: Voyager<\/em>, where he wrote thirty-five episodes, including such episodes as Jetrel, Tuvix, Before and After and <em>Q2<\/em>. Writer\/producer Sussman worked on the last season of Voyager and then moved to <em>Star Trek: Enterprise<\/em>, where he wrote such episodes as: <em>Shadows of P&#8217;Jem<\/em> and <em>Dead Stop<\/em> (both with <strong>Phyllis Strong<\/strong>) and the highly-regarded <em>In a Mirror, Darkly<\/em>.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/Sussman090810.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-10178\" title=\"Sussman090810\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/Sussman090810.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"132\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;These pilots reflect our enthusiasm for relatable but complex everyman heroes, showcased in exciting storytelling environments,\u201d said <strong>Michael Wright<\/strong>, executive vice president, head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). \u201cThey also reflect our reliance on extraordinary talent to deliver on the promise of quality series television.
