{"id":10222,"date":"2010-09-14T12:02:32","date_gmt":"2010-09-14T19:02:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=10222"},"modified":"2010-09-14T12:02:32","modified_gmt":"2010-09-14T19:02:32","slug":"to-boldly-go-to-the-great-beyond","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2010\/09\/to-boldly-go-to-the-great-beyond\/","title":{"rendered":"To Boldly Go To The Great Beyond"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Star Trek<\/em> fans who prefer to be cremated when their time comes can now have their ashes stored in a <em>Star Trek-<\/em>themed<em> <\/em>urn.<\/p>\n<p>Eternal Image, Inc, a company who designs, manufactures and markets officially licensed memorial products, has announced the <em>Star Trek<\/em> urn, which will be available in two models.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a href=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/Urn1.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-10223\" title=\"Urn1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/Urn1.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"126\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>&#8220;Eternal Image&#8217;s official <em>Star Trek<\/em> urn offers fans a unique expression of their love for the franchise,&#8221; said <strong>Clint Mytych<\/strong>, President &amp; CEO, Eternal Image. &#8220;<em>Star Trek<\/em> fans worldwide have been awaiting this release, and in fact we&#8217;ve garnered nearly three hundred pre-order inquiries for this urn.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The urn has a capacity of one hundred-and-ninety cubic inches and is &#8220;built with an urn body made from a composite blend of natural minerals, an etched stainless steel face plate and name scroll, and an image of the Starship Enterprise printed on anodized aluminum. It features a cut-out of the famous <em>Star Trek<\/em> Delta symbol through which you can see the famed Starship Enterprise flying through space,&#8221; according to the press release.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/Urn2.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-10224\" title=\"Urn2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/Urn2.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"166\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Officially licensed from CBS Consumer Products, two models will be offered: <em>To Boldly Go<\/em>, and <em>The Voyage Continues<\/em>.
