Plus &#8211; friend <em>GeekChicDail<\/em>y for a chance at free <em>Star Trek<\/em> swag!<\/p>\n<p>Dutch <em>Star Trek<\/em> fan <strong>Pascal vd Heiden<\/strong> (<strong>klapstoelpiloot <\/strong>on YouTube) has built his own home automation computer and uploaded the results to YouTube. &#8220;This is what I built in my home and this video is my own work,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Both the computer and the software is self-made. The interface is inspired by the LCARS interface from<em> Star Trek<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/FanLCARS112410.gif\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10791\" title=\"FanLCARS112410\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/FanLCARS112410.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/FanLCARS112410.gif 350w, https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/FanLCARS112410-300x214.gif 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The video shows some of the functions included on this computer, including: agenda\/calendar, shopping list, rain radar, train departure times, library and media player (connected to his home cinema set), Internet browser, and bluetooth support (to send MP3s or the shopping list to his telephone).<\/p>\n<p>There is no control for his home lights though.
