{"id":11078,"date":"2011-01-05T11:10:49","date_gmt":"2011-01-05T19:10:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=11078"},"modified":"2011-01-05T11:10:49","modified_gmt":"2011-01-05T19:10:49","slug":"pine-auditions-are-not-fun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2011\/01\/pine-auditions-are-not-fun\/","title":{"rendered":"Pine: Auditions Are Not Fun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Walking into an audition can end up deflating the ego of an actor, as <strong>Chris Pine<\/strong> found out during one memorable audition.<\/p>\n<p>According to Pine, an actor has to be &#8220;born masochist.&#8221; &#8220;The audition room is one of the most awkward, uncomfortable places to be, period,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I don&#8217;t even know how producers do it, quite honestly.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a href=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/PineCaptainAmerica021210.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-11079\" title=\"PineCaptainAmerica021210\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/PineCaptainAmerica021210.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"136\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>During one audition, a casting director was particularly harsh. &#8220;I had one casting director stop me and say, &#8216;All right, now do it again and make me believe you,'&#8221; said Pine. &#8220;That was half of what she said, but also the tone that I can&#8217;t really recreate.
