Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan<\/em>‘s Kirstie Alley <\/strong>is nervous about tonight’s appearance in Dancing With the Stars<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Alley will be taking to the ballroom floor tonight in the season premiere of Dancing With the Stars<\/em>. Her dancing partner will be Ukrainian Latin ballroom dance champion Maksim Chmerkovskiy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>“Yikes…only seven days away from DWTS…feels a little like that dream of being in high school taking finals u forgot to study for…naked,” said Alley via Twitter last week. “I’m at once terrified and exhilarated to do DWTS…intermittent bouts of convulsions…and late night crying jags.”<\/p>\n

DWTS insiders are worried that Alley might be too scared to dance. “You have no idea how nerve-wracking that first dance can be in front of a live audience in the ballroom the judges and millions and viewers that are watching from home,” said one insider. “Rehearsals help you make all the right moves, but dancing on an empty stage and blocking out your routine with the cameras is very different from going live.”<\/p>\n

If her performance in practice sessions is any indication, Alley might do well after all. “In practice, she has been amazing and is a front-runner,” said another insider. “The amount of curiosity over Kirstie and the amount of work she is putting into doing this means she could go all the way.”<\/p>\n
