Abrams<\/strong> is involved in the discussions according to <em>Cloverfield<\/em> Director <strong>Matt Reeves<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Cloverfield<\/em>, the story of a group of young adults documenting the rampage of a giant monster through New York City, was released in 2008 and did well in the theaters and with critics.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a href=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/AbramsSmall.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-11614\" title=\"AbramsSmall\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/AbramsSmall.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"146\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Reeves gave an update about the progress of a sequel. &#8220;At the moment, we<a href=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/CloverfieldPoster032111.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-11615\" title=\"CloverfieldPoster032111\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/CloverfieldPoster032111.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"98\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a> are talking about the story quite a lot,&#8221; he said. &#8220;<strong>Drew Goddard<\/strong>, who wrote the original, is going to pen the sequel, and J.J.
