{"id":11698,"date":"2011-04-04T12:02:59","date_gmt":"2011-04-04T19:02:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=11698"},"modified":"2011-04-04T12:02:59","modified_gmt":"2011-04-04T19:02:59","slug":"orci-fan-input-important","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2011\/04\/orci-fan-input-important\/","title":{"rendered":"Orci: Fan Input Important"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Speaking to the press at WonderCon in San Francisco this weekend, <em>Star Trek XII<\/em>&#8216;s <strong>Roberto Orci<\/strong> gave a progress report on the <em>Star Trek<\/em> movie sequel.<\/p>\n<p>The first draft of the script for <em>Star Trek XII<\/em> is complete, but that doesn&#8217;t mean the writing is done. &#8220;We&#8217;ll be working and tweaking that story through shooting,&#8221; said Orci.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a href=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/OrciSmall.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-11699\" title=\"OrciSmall\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/OrciSmall.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"113\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Fans made their opinions known regarding Star Trek XII and their opinions have been noted by the writers. &#8220;Everyone said [Kirk] is too young to become Captain,&#8221; said Orci. &#8220;So maybe in the next movie, somebody goes, &#8216;Man, you sure became Captain young and fast.&#8217; You start to incorporate people&#8217;s opinions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Another thing that fans wanted in the first film and still would like to see is more time with each character. &#8220;[Fans] wanted more character time with everybody,&#8221; said Orci. &#8220;And, because that was an origin story for <em>Star Trek<\/em>, everyone had to come in at a certain point.
