{"id":11707,"date":"2011-04-04T12:11:46","date_gmt":"2011-04-04T19:11:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=11707"},"modified":"2011-04-04T12:11:46","modified_gmt":"2011-04-04T19:11:46","slug":"star-struck-spiner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2011\/04\/star-struck-spiner\/","title":{"rendered":"Star-struck Spiner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/SpinerBrent.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-11709\" title=\"SpinerBrent\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/SpinerBrent.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"116\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>When <strong>Brent Spiner<\/strong> came to Hollywood, it wasn&#8217;t just to become a famous actor.<\/p>\n<p>The actor, best-known to<em> Star Trek: The Next Generation <\/em>fans as Data, also wanted to meet his favorite movie stars.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>When Spiner was asked about his most memorable role, he explained that part of his attraction to a role was the coworkers involved in a project. &#8220;They&#8217;re all memorable for different reasons,&#8221; he said, &#8220;but mostly they&#8217;re about who you meet, who you get to work with. I&#8217;m a fan, just like anyone else. And when I came to Hollywood, what I really wanted to do was meet some of my heroes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>His role in 1997&#8217;s romantic comedy <em>Out To Sea<\/em>, in which Spiner played tyrannical cruse director Gil Godwyn, was the most memorable to Spiner, because he got to work with <strong>Jack Lemmon<\/strong> and <strong>Walter Matthau<\/strong>. &#8220;I got to work with these giants,&#8221; he said, &#8220;my heroes since I was a kid.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Spiner also spoke briefly in the interview about playing Data on <em>Star Trek: The Next Generation<\/em>, where he said that he didn&#8217;t find it difficult to play an android without emotions, and about baseball.
