Abrams<\/strong> will direct <em>Star Trek 2<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Busy with<em> Super 8<\/em>, Abrams took time to speak about<strong> Damon Lindelof<\/strong>, and Abrams&#8217; own involvement with<em> Star Trek 2<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a href=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/AbramsSmall.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-11943\" title=\"AbramsSmall\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/AbramsSmall.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"146\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>&#8220;Damon is working on the script for [<em>Star Trek 2<\/em>],&#8221; said Abrams. &#8220;As busy as I&#8217;ve been with <em>Super 8<\/em>, I remember that when we did the first one, Damon was that busy with <em>Lost<\/em>. So it&#8217;s going to be very cool to have him on board as a writer. There are some amazing ideas. These are not just great friends of mine, but they&#8217;re great writers. I&#8217;m thrilled and very optimistic that it&#8217;s going to get to where it needs to get to.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But will Abrams return as director for <em>Star Trek 2<\/em>? &#8220;There hasn&#8217;t been a whole lot of time for me to be working with the writers,&#8221; said Abrams. &#8220;Now that <em>Super 8<\/em> is drawing to a close in terms of this post schedule, I&#8217;m looking forward to jumping in and hopefully getting that ready as soon as possible.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fans are waiting to see if J.J.
