{"id":12631,"date":"2011-08-05T08:33:48","date_gmt":"2011-08-05T15:33:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=12631"},"modified":"2011-08-05T08:33:48","modified_gmt":"2011-08-05T15:33:48","slug":"star-trek-2-comic-to-release-this-autumn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2011\/08\/star-trek-2-comic-to-release-this-autumn\/","title":{"rendered":"Star Trek #2 Comic To Release This Autumn"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>IDW Publishing has announced that the second issue of a new comic book series based on <em>Star Trek XI<\/em>&#8216;s alternative timeline will soon follow issue #1, which debuts in September.<\/p>\n<p><em>Star Trek #2<\/em> is billed as a &#8220;lead up to 2012&#8217;s eagerly awaited <em>Star Trek<\/em> sequel&#8221; and revisits an episode from the original series.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a href=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/StarTrek02-080511.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-12632\" title=\"StarTrek02-080511\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/StarTrek02-080511.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"132\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a>In <em>Star Trek #2<\/em>, &#8220;Kirk and Spock face off against one of their own when crewman Gary Mitchell is possessed by an entity of unfathomable power.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The comic will be written by <strong>Mike Johnson<\/strong>, with art by <strong>Stephen Molnar<\/strong> and covers by <strong>Tim Bradstreet<\/strong> and <strong>Joe Corroney<\/strong>.
