We had a lot of goodwill around that first movie. So I feel like people are going to be ready for a second one by the time it comes out. It&#8217;s not like &#8216;Already? Really? Again?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em>Star Trek 2<\/em> could &#8220;go anywhere,&#8221; says Quinto, and Vulcan&#8217;s fate as laid out in <em>Star Trek XI<\/em> is not necessarily set in stone. &#8220;I imagine we&#8217;re going to pick up right where we left off, but it could be a completely different timeline,&#8221; he said. &#8220;They&#8217;ve basically now created a device that allows them to go anywhere with it. I mean, we could be in a parallel universe; we could be in a parallel time. That&#8217;s the joy of science-fiction.
