{"id":13613,"date":"2011-12-14T09:48:46","date_gmt":"2011-12-14T17:48:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=13613"},"modified":"2011-12-14T09:48:46","modified_gmt":"2011-12-14T17:48:46","slug":"rosenman-star-trek-iv-score-released","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2011\/12\/rosenman-star-trek-iv-score-released\/","title":{"rendered":"Rosenman Star Trek IV Score Released"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For fans of the music from <em>Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home<\/em>, the complete <strong>Leonard Rosenman<\/strong> score to the movie has just been released.<\/p>\n<p>The CD is seventy-one minutes long, and includes twenty-four tracks, including bonus tracks.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a href=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/STIVMusic121411.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-13614\" title=\"STIVMusic121411\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/STIVMusic121411.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>&#8220;For this release, Intrada worked from the original session masters housed at Paramount, reassembling the complete score in film order. This presentation also includes numerous bonus tracks, including alternates and the song <em>I Hate You<\/em>. A stand-out is an alternate version of the <em>Main Title<\/em>. Rosenman created this stately arrangement of <strong><\/strong><strong>Alexander Courage<\/strong>&#8216;s classic <em>Star Trek<\/em> theme to accompany the first part of the opening credits, which appear against a background of deep space.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Rosenman&#8217;s <em>Star Trek IV<\/em> music bears the hallmarks of the composer&#8217;s distinctive style: vaulting brass figures, complex textural passages, thumping suspense motives.
