{"id":14119,"date":"2012-01-11T12:44:51","date_gmt":"2012-01-11T20:44:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=14119"},"modified":"2012-01-11T12:45:15","modified_gmt":"2012-01-11T20:45:15","slug":"hemsworth-on-bafta-short-list","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2012\/01\/hemsworth-on-bafta-short-list\/","title":{"rendered":"Hemsworth On BAFTA Short List"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Star Trek XI<\/em>&#8216;s <strong>Chris Hemsworth<\/strong> (George Kirk) is a finalist for a British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) 2012 Orange Rising Star Award.<\/p>\n<p>The others on the finalist list with Hemsworth include <strong>Chris O&#8217;Dowd<\/strong> (<em>Bridesmaids<\/em>), <strong>Adam Deacon<\/strong> (<em>Casualty<\/em>), <strong>Eddie Redmayne<\/strong> (<em>My Week with Marilyn<\/em>) and <strong>Tom Hiddleston<\/strong> (<em>Thor<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a href=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/2012\/01\/hemsworth-on-bafta-short-list\/hemsworth150-5\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14122\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-14122\" title=\"Hemsworth150\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/Hemsworth150.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"125\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>The original list of eight included the five men, plus three women who did not make the final cut. The women were <strong>Jessica Chastain<\/strong> (<em>Tree of Life<\/em>), <strong>Jennifer Lawrence<\/strong> (<em>X-Men: First Class<\/em>) and <strong>Felicity Jones<\/strong> (<em>Like Crazy<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>The winner will be announced February 12 at the BAFTA ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>Last year\u2019s Orange Rising Star winner, <strong>Tom Hardy<\/strong>, also had a<em> Star Trek<\/em> connection.
