Veteran character actor George Murdock<\/strong> passed away last week at the age of eighty-one.<\/p>\n

The actor, best-known for his roles on Barney Miller <\/em>and Battlestar Galactica<\/em>, was familiar to Star Trek<\/em> fans for his appearances in Star Trek V: The Final Frontier <\/em>and in Star Trek: The Next Generation<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Murdock’s television and movie career dated back to the 1960s, and included roles on shows such as The Twilight Zone, The Untouchables, 77 Sunset Strip, Gunsmoke, Hawaii Five-O, The Rockford Files, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Barney<\/em>, and the X-Files<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In addition to his role on Star Trek V: The Final Frontier<\/em>, where he took on the role of the malevolent “God,” Murdock was seen\u00a0on Star Trek: The Next Generatio<\/em>n, where he portrayed Admiral J.P. Hanson in The Best of Both Worlds Part I<\/em> and Part II<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Murdock is survived by wife Cathy and a stepdaughter. A remembrance of the actor will be held on Sunday, May 20 at 2 PM at the Odyssey Theater in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
