{"id":17287,"date":"2012-05-11T14:34:24","date_gmt":"2012-05-11T21:34:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=17287"},"modified":"2012-05-11T14:34:24","modified_gmt":"2012-05-11T21:34:24","slug":"stewart-to-race-for-charity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2012\/05\/stewart-to-race-for-charity\/","title":{"rendered":"Stewart To Race For Charity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-17290\" title=\"StewartRacing051112\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/StewartRacing051112.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"580\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sir Patrick Stewart<\/strong> will be taking part in a celebrity racing event in July.<\/p>\n<p>The Grand Prix Silverstone Classic weekend on July 21 will feature Stewart and other celebrities such as <strong>Brendan Cole, <\/strong>Chef<strong> Heston Blumenthal, Brian Johnson, Tony Hirst, Chemmy Alcott<\/strong> and ex-England footballer <strong>Steve Bull<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->The celebrities will get to drive 130 MPH lightweight Morgan sports cars in the event.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve raced once before in a pro-celebrity event on the Long Beach Indy Car circuit in California,&#8221; said Stewart. &#8220;But that was ten years ago!<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve been in retirement since then but when the chance came up to drive a great British sports car at Silverstone, well, what could be better?<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was just irresistible.
