In honor of the release of a new deluxe three-disc Star Trek: The Motion Picture<\/em> soundtrack, a Star Trek: The Motion Picture Soundtrack Celebration<\/em> will take place next month.<\/p>\n The celebration will be held June 4 at 7: 30 PM at the Arclight Cinemas in Hollywood, California.<\/p>\n The Star Trek: The Motion Picture Soundtrack Celebration<\/em> is billed as a “one-of-a-kind multi-media event, and will feature a live panel discussion and presentation, CD soundtrack signing, The Motion Picture props and costume display, and a screening of Star Trek: The Motion Picture: The Director’s Edition<\/em>.<\/p>\n The ninety-minute panel discussion\/presentation event will be hosted by Jeff Bond<\/strong>, author of The Music of Star Trek<\/em>. Panel guests schedule include: Original\u00a0The Motion Picture<\/em> soundtrack album and\u00a0The Motion Picture <\/em>re-issue soundtrack producer and longtime Goldsmith recording engineer Bruce Botnick<\/strong>,\u00a0The Motion Picture <\/em>synthesizer performer Craig Huxley<\/strong>,\u00a0The Motion Picture <\/em>session violinist and renowned composer David Newman<\/strong>,\u00a0The Motion Picture <\/em>soundtrack re-issue producer and\u00a0The Motion Picture Director\u2019s Edition <\/em>producer Mike Mattesino<\/strong>, The Motion Picture <\/em>director of photography Richard H. Kline<\/strong>, and others to be announced.<\/p>\n Attendees will see and hear exclusive video and audio clips, and a live demonstration by Huxley of his famed eighteen-foot “Blaster Beam” instrument, used in the Star Trek: The Motion Picture<\/em>‘s score.<\/p>\n Huxley and Botnick will be signing the CD sets, which will be available for purchase (cash only) for $30 at the event.
