Star Trek 2<\/em>‘s Chris Pine<\/strong> is in talks for a role in a revival of 1955’s Cat on a Hot Tin Roof<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The original Cat on a Hot Tin Roof<\/em>, penned by Tennessee Williams<\/strong>, was the story of a dysfunctional Mississippi family, gathered together to share the birthday of the dying patriarch of that family, “Big Daddy” Pollitt.<\/p>\n

Pine is one of the actors in consideration for the role of Brick, the alcoholic son of “Big Daddy.” Jeremy Renner<\/strong> (The Hurt Locker, The Town<\/em>) is also in contention for the role.<\/p>\n

Scarlett Johansson<\/strong> has already signed to take on the role of Maggie (also known as Maggie the Cat), Brick’s wife.<\/p>\n

This Broadway production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof<\/em> will be the third one in the last decade; the other two performances of the play taking place in 2003-2004 and in 2008.<\/p>\n
