Star Trek 2′<\/em>s J.J. Abrams<\/strong> will be the producer on Earthquake<\/em>, a new disaster film.<\/p>\n

Although sharing a title with 1975’s Earthquake<\/em>, which starred Charlton Heston<\/strong>, this Earthquake<\/em> is not a remake of that classic disaster film.<\/p>\n

Earthquake<\/em> has been in development since 2008, but has now had a change in writers, with Dustin Lance Black<\/strong> (Milk<\/em>) replacing David Seltzer<\/strong> (The Omen<\/em>).<\/p>\n

There is not much in the way of detail on the plot of Earthquake<\/em> yet, but at one point, the “idea was that the movie would focus on the relationships between a group of people who get caught up in the disaster.”<\/p>\n
