{"id":19442,"date":"2012-08-13T12:52:47","date_gmt":"2012-08-13T19:52:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=19442"},"modified":"2012-08-14T21:36:05","modified_gmt":"2012-08-15T04:36:05","slug":"deweese-passes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2012\/08\/deweese-passes\/","title":{"rendered":"DeWeese Passes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-19445\" title=\"DeWeese081312\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/DeWeese081312.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"580\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Star Trek<\/em> author<strong> Thomas Eugene DeWeese<\/strong> passed away in March at the age of seventy-eight.<\/p>\n<p>DeWeese was the author of half a dozen original series and <em>Star Trek: The Next Generation<\/em> novels, which he authored under the name Gene DeWeese.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->The prolific DeWeese was a technical writer as well as a fiction author, writing manuals and programmed instructions texts for the Apollo space program.
