A Star Trek<\/em> fan with terminal cancer who had been granted his wish to see Star Trek into Darkness<\/em> has passed away.<\/p>\n Daniel Craft<\/strong>‘s wish to see the movie had been posted by his friend on Reddit<\/em>, and the wish eventually made its way to J.J. Abrams<\/strong>, who made a rough cut of the movie available for Dan and his wife Paige to see.<\/p>\n “Of course, he loved the film,” said Grady Hendrix<\/em>, a friend of the couple. “It was the last thing he got to do before he passed away.”<\/p>\n Hendrix thanked the Reddit community<\/a> for their assistance in getting the word out and making his friend’s last wish come true. “At a time when he didn’t have a whole lot to look forward to, r\/StarTrek<\/em>, J.J. Abrams, Damon Lindelof<\/strong>, and Bad Robot<\/em> performed a simple act of kindness for a total stranger and gave Dan something to be excited about for a couple of days,” said Hendrix. “The movie did exactly what movies are supposed to do; it helped him forget about his problems for a couple of hours. It doesn’t sound like much, but in this case it was…it made a huge difference to Dan, his wife, and his friends.”<\/p>\n When asked about what he had done for Craft, Abrams said, “It was an honor to be asked.
