The latest batch of Juan Ortiz<\/strong> original series art prints has been announced.<\/p>\n The four prints for January include: Mirror, Mirror, The Tholian Web, Miri <\/em>and The Savage Curtain<\/em>.<\/p>\n Ortiz spoke about his latest creations and what inspired them.<\/p>\n For Mirror, Mirror<\/em>, his inspiration was “boxing match flyers.” “I don’t usually lean towards bold colors, but this time it works to reflect the excitement that a boxing match usually evokes,” said Ortiz. “I chose the two Spocks because of the way ‘evil’ Spock’s iconic goatee strongly contradicts good\/regular Spock.”<\/p>\n The Tholian Web<\/em> was inspired by “Russian film posters of the mid 1920’s to early 1930’s,” said Ortiz. “What I like about those posters is their mix of photos along with illustrations. Which is perfect for me, because I don’t want to be bogged down with just one style. Since I went with a black and white image, I went with the red on the title so that it would pop.
