The fan restoration of the original series Galileo shuttle is almost finished.<\/p>\n

Trek fans Adam Schneider <\/strong>and Alec Peters<\/strong> have been working on the restoration of the twenty-foot-long, nine-foot-tall shuttle for months after the shuttle was purchased at auction last July.<\/p>\n

“If you looked [at the shuttle] pre-restoration, all you would do is cry,” said Schneider. “When you look at the ‘post,’ you can see what the original design and intent was.<\/p>\n

“… Star Trek<\/em> is supposed to be our future in space. It is not fictional \u2014 it is, of course \u2014 but it isn’t intended to be a galaxy far, far away. It is intended to be what we do on this planet with our capabilities over the next few hundred years, and as such, it’s inspiring.”<\/p>\n
