The Leftovers<\/em>, an hour-long drama based on a novel by Tom Perrotta<\/strong>, will be airing on HBO.<\/p>\n

Based on Perrotta<\/strong>‘s book of the same name, the story will follow those left behind after The Rapture, in a world that will “never be the same.”<\/p>\n

Nine episodes of the show, written by Perrotta and Damon Lindelof<\/strong>, have been ordered by HBO. Cast will include\u00a0 Justin Theroux<\/strong> as Chief of Police Kevin Garvey, Christopher Eccleston<\/strong> as a former minister, Carrie Coon<\/strong> as wife and mother Nora Durst, Amanda Warren<\/strong> as a town mayor, Ann Dowd<\/strong> as the leader of a local chapter of the Guilty Remnant, a cult-like movement, Amy Brenneman<\/strong>, Chris Zylka, Margaret Qualley, Emily Meade, Michael Gaston, Max Carver, Charlie Carver, Annie Q, Paterson Joseph<\/strong>, and Brad Leland<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Leftovers<\/em> will be produced by Warner Bros. TV, with Lindelof as executive producer\/showrunner, and Perrotta, Ron Yerxa, Albert Berger, Peter Berg <\/strong>and Sarah Aubrey<\/strong> also executive producing. Berg will direct.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
