A new contest by ThinkGeek<\/em> offers fans the chance to design a Star Trek<\/em> shirt and to win five hundred dollars.<\/p>\n

The contest runs through October 7, with the winner to be announced on October 14.<\/p>\n

“To help celebrate 2013 as the ‘Year of the Fangirl,’ ThinkGeek<\/em> has teamed up with Her Universe<\/em> to host an epic Star Trek<\/em> shirt design contest, which we’re calling ‘Make It Sew<\/em>.’ The idea: you send us your Star Trek<\/em> shirt design, which can be from any of the television series. We go through them and select the most epic one. That person gets a $500 prize and also gets his or her design printed on one of Her Univers<\/em>e’s super-comfy ladies’ blanks and made available here on ThinkGeek<\/em> for all our Star Trek<\/em> fangirls.”<\/p>\n

Those entering can submit up to three original designs; in GIF, JPG, PDF or PNG format.<\/p>\n

Designs can be based on any of the television series, or the first ten Star Trek<\/em> movies, but not from Star Trek (2009) <\/em>or Star Trek into Darkness<\/em>.<\/p>\n
