His career spanned five decades, and culminated in his induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006. Davis died in 1991.<\/p>\n<p><em>Kill the Trumpet Player<\/em> will feature <strong>Don Cheadle<\/strong> as Davis, and will be set in 1979. Cheadle will also direct, while <strong>Stephen J. Rivele <\/strong>and<strong> Chris Wilkinson<\/strong> will write the script. <strong>Herbie Hancock<\/strong> will be both musical supervisor and executive producer.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not yet known which role Saldana would take in the film.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Zo\u00eb Saldana and Ewan McGregor are both in talks for Kill the Trumpet Player.
