George Takei’<\/strong>s documentary To Be Takei<\/em> will debut on DirecTV<\/em> on July 3 before being released to theaters.<\/p>\n To Be Takei<\/em> chronicles Takei’s life; including his childhood in a World War II internment camp, his time on Star Trek<\/em>, and his human rights work and Internet presence.<\/p>\n “Over seven decades, actor and activist George Takei journeyed from a World War II internment camp to the helm of the Starship Enterprise, and then to the daily news feeds of five million Facebook<\/em> fans. Join George and his husband, Brad, on a wacky and profound trek for life, liberty, and love.”<\/p>\n To Be Takei<\/em> will run from July 3 through August 5 exclusively on DirecTV<\/em>, and then will be released theatrically on August 22 in both the US and in Canada.
