Mulgrew is up against <strong>Julie Bowen<\/strong> (<em>Modern Family<\/em>), <strong>Allison Janney<\/strong> (<em>Mom<\/em>), <strong>Kate McKinnon<\/strong> (<em>Saturday Night Live<\/em>), <strong>Mayim Bialik<\/strong> (<em>The Big Bang Theory<\/em>), and <strong>Anna Chlumsky<\/strong> (<em>Amy Brookheimer<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Benedict Cumberbatch<\/strong> (Sherlock) was nominated for <em>Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie<\/em>. Cumberbatch&#8217;s fellow nominees include <strong>Chiweter Ejiofor<\/strong> (<em>Dancing on the Edge<\/em>),<strong> Martin Freeman <\/strong>(<em>Fargo<\/em>),<strong> Billy Bob Thornton <\/strong>(<em>Fargo<\/em>),<strong> Idris Elba<\/strong> (<em>Luther<\/em>), and<strong> Mark Ruffalo<\/strong> (<em>The Normal Heart<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p><em>Cosmos: A SpaceTime Odyssey<\/em>, directed by <strong>Brannon Braga<\/strong>, is in contention for the <em>Outstanding Directing for Nonfiction Programming<\/em> Emmy. The series was also nominated for <em>Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Next Generation<\/em>&#8216;s <strong>Whoopi Goldberg<\/strong>&#8216;s <em>Whoopi Goldberg Presents Moms Mabley<\/em> was nominated in the <em>Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special<\/em> category.
