A new Kickstarter<\/em> has been started to fund the return of Free Enterprise<\/em>, as a TV series.<\/p>\n

The new TV series would be based on the cult classic Free Enterprise<\/em>, which was released in 1999.<\/p>\n

The new series would be “produced by the original team behind the beloved fan favorite,” and would be “a love letter to Star Trek<\/em> and all things geektastic from two lifelong devotees of genre filmmaking and fantastic pop culture.”<\/p>\n

Free Enterprise, The TV Series<\/em> would feature “an all-new cast of characters and a coterie of famous nerdlebrities that they will encounter in their travels.”<\/p>\n

“We are so excited about the opportunity to revisit this universe we first created fifteen years ago,” said Series Producer Mark A. Altman<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

“This is a chance for us to make our show the way we want to make it,\u201d said Producer Robert Meyer Burnett<\/strong>. “We don’t have to answer to a studio or a network, only the fans who will make Kirk-starting this series possible.”<\/p>\n

The Kickstarter<\/em>, located here<\/a>, runs through August 20, and seeks to raise $225.000.<\/p>\n

Perks range from thank you letters and images from the set at the $10.00 level, to a set visit to meet the stars, VIP tickets for the premiere, a prop from both the original movie and new series, a dinner with the creators and members of the cast at a local Los Angeles restaurant and more at the $10,000 level, and plenty in-between those levels; including art prints, trading cards, t-shirts, and more.<\/p>\n
