Roddenberry Entertainment<\/em> and Wikia<\/em>, the social universe of fandom are teaming up for the Warp 5.0: Fandom’s Two-Year Trek Toward Sci-Fi’s Golden Anniversary<\/em> project.<\/p>\n The Warp 5.0: Fandom’s Two-Year Trek Toward Sci-Fi’s Golden Anniversary<\/em> will be part of Trek Initiative<\/em>, the online Star Trek<\/em> community portal.<\/p>\n “Launching at the Star Trek Vegas Convention<\/em> this week, a signature element of the ‘Warp 5.0<\/em>‘ campaign will be the world’s first and only ‘census’ of Star Trek<\/em> fandom. Featuring an interview with Rod Roddenberry himself, this ‘census’ will incorporate videos from fans around the world voicing their favorite Star Trek<\/em> memories. Over the course of the next two years, this compilation will include videos from other live fan events as well as online submissions.”<\/p>\n “It’s really fantastic to have the chance to pull in personal fan content around such an important milestone for my family,” said Eugene “Rod” Roddenberry. “My father would be proud to be part of such a collaborative initiative celebrating the fandom of his legacy.”<\/p>\n “The campaign will consist of several programming initiatives (things like Star Trek<\/em>-themed Qwizards and Showcases with celebrity talent, a massive character bracket tournament, a fan film contest, etc.) and will incorporate presences at several live events over the course of the two years.”<\/p>\n …[The] campaign [kicks] off with ‘The Roddenberry Effect<\/em>‘ [census; to be] recorded at this year’s official Star Trek Vegas Convention<\/em>.
