{"id":36998,"date":"2014-10-07T08:50:52","date_gmt":"2014-10-07T15:50:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=36998"},"modified":"2014-10-07T08:50:52","modified_gmt":"2014-10-07T15:50:52","slug":"shatner-twitter-misunderstanding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2014\/10\/shatner-twitter-misunderstanding\/","title":{"rendered":"Shatner Twitter Misunderstanding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-37001\" alt=\"KirkSpock092314\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/KirkSpock092314.gif\" width=\"580\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A short tweet from <strong>William Shatner<\/strong> set off a firestorm online.<\/p>\n<p>The tweet, posted in the wee hours this morning, said &#8220;I&#8217;m baaaaccckk!!!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->What Shatner (or his writer) meant was that he was back in the USA after appearing at <em>Destination Star Trek 3<\/em> last weekend.<\/p>\n<p>But some interpreted the tweet as confirmation that he would be back in the next <em>Star Trek<\/em> movie. Several sites, including the <em>Hollywood Reporter<\/em>, ran stories with the tweet saying that it confirmed Shatner&#8217;s presence in <em>Star Trek 3<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Annoyed, Shatner fired back. &#8220;I&#8217;m baaaccck in L.A.,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I heard Mercury is in retrograde so I suppose we can expect craziness.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Supposedly both Shatner and <strong>Leonard Nimoy<\/strong> have been approached regarding the movie, and so any secrecy about them possibly being in the film is already gone. From where I sit, either say they&#8217;re in or say they&#8217;re out. Dragging out the secrecy regarding the possibility of their appearance is, at this point, rather futile and rather tiresome.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A short tweet from William Shatner set off a firestorm online.
