Benedict Cumberbatch<\/strong> was one of half a dozen Paddington<\/em> actors who have recently designed life-sized statues of the Paddington Bear.<\/p>\n The Paddington statues are being done ahead of the release of Paddington<\/em> in the UK later this month.<\/p>\n Over fifty Paddington statues will be found in London ahead of the movie release, which takes place November 28.<\/p>\n First created by author Michael Bond<\/strong> in the 1950s, Paddington Bear is “known for his distinctive red hat and blue coat.”<\/p>\n Cumberbatch “traded Paddington\u2019s red hat for a “Sherlock-esque Deerstalker.” “Having already starred in his first big film, Paddington was keen to take on a new role, with a new disguise,” said Cumberbatch. “It had to be quintessentially British, naturally, and now that I\u2019ve given him a new appearance, maybe I could train Paddington in the finer art of acting as well.”<\/p>\n Other Paddington<\/em> stars took part in the statue design, including Hugh Bonneville, Julie Walters, Peter Capaldi<\/strong>, and Ben Whishaw<\/strong>.<\/p>\n When the promotion is finished, the statues will be auctioned off for charity.<\/p>\n The Cumberbatch Paddington Bear statue is located at the Museum of London.
