Benedict Cumberbatch<\/strong> was nominated for several Screen Actors Guild (SAG)<\/em> awards.<\/p>\n The nominations for the 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards<\/em> were announced this morning and include two Trek actors.<\/p>\n Cumberbatch was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role<\/em> for his role as Alan Turing<\/strong> on The Imitation Game<\/em>. He goes up against Steve Carell<\/strong> (Foxcatcher<\/em>), Jake Gyllenhaal<\/strong> (Nightcrawler<\/em>), Michael Keaton<\/strong> (Birdman<\/em>), and Eddie Redmayne<\/strong> (The Theory of Everything<\/em>).<\/p>\n Cumberbatch is part of the cast of The Imitation Game<\/em>, which picked up a nomination in the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Pictur<\/em>e category. The Imitation Game<\/em> goes up against Birdman, Boyhood, The Grand Budapest Hotel<\/em>, and The Theory of Everything<\/em>.<\/p>\n In addition to his movie nominations, Cumberbatch was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries<\/em> for his work in Sherlock: His Last Vow<\/em> as Sherlock Holmes. Also nominated were Adrien Brody<\/strong> (Houdini<\/em>), Richard Jenkins<\/strong> (Olive Kitteridge<\/em>), Mark Ruffalo<\/strong> (The Normal Heart<\/em>), and Billy Bob Thornton<\/strong> (Fargo<\/em>).<\/p>\n Kate Mulgrew<\/strong>‘s show, Orange is the New Black<\/em>, was nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.<\/em> The show is up against The Big Bang Theory, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Modern Family<\/em>, and Veep<\/em>.<\/p>\n The SAG Award Ceremony<\/em> will be held Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015 and will be simulcast on TNT <\/em>and TBS<\/em> live at 8 p.m. ET\/5 p.m. PT.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Benedict Cumberbatch was nominated for several Screen Actors Guild (SAG) awards.
