{"id":39074,"date":"2015-01-26T10:32:48","date_gmt":"2015-01-26T18:32:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=39074"},"modified":"2015-01-26T10:32:48","modified_gmt":"2015-01-26T18:32:48","slug":"pine-responds-to-pegg-writer-announcement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2015\/01\/pine-responds-to-pegg-writer-announcement\/","title":{"rendered":"Pine Responds To Pegg Writer Announcement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-39077\" alt=\"PinePegg012615\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/PinePegg012615.gif\" width=\"580\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Fellow castmate <strong>Simon Pegg<\/strong> is co-writing Star Trek 3, and <strong>Chris Pine<\/strong> is perfectly fine with that.<\/p>\n<p>Pine couldn&#8217;t resist joking about it though, while speaking at the <em>Sundance Film Festival<\/em> recently.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->&#8220;We are worried,&#8221; joked Pine, who was at <em>Sundance<\/em> to do press for his new movie <em>Z for Zachariah<\/em>. Pine added that the script would now contain &#8220;vast, vast Simon Pegg monologues.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Pegg had notified his fellow actors about his change in status. &#8220;Yeah, he sent an e-mail to all of us, and we\u2019re all really excited,&#8221; said Pine. &#8220;What we enjoy about it is that we have a laugh. We want to make sure that that&#8217;s still embedded in there, so to have Simon writing it is the perfect fit.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But having a fellow acting writing the script doesn&#8217;t mean the actors will get a sneak peek though. &#8220;We are quite literally the last people in production to read the script,&#8221; said Pine. &#8220;I get calls from&#8230;Catering, they&#8217;re like, &#8216;Hey, great script man!
