Later this spring, George Takei<\/strong> will be receiving an award.<\/p>\n The award will be the Roger Baldwin Award<\/em>, given out by the American Civil Liberties Union<\/em> (ACLU<\/em>) of Massachusetts at its annual Bill of Rights The Roger Baldwin Award<\/em>, established in 1989, is named after the founder of the ACLU<\/em>, and is given out each year to an individual or organization who “demonstrates exceptional commitment to advancing human rights.” The award is “presented in alternating years by Human Rights First<\/em> (awarded to international human rights advocates) and the ACLU<\/em> (awarded to advocates in the United States).<\/p>\n This year’s Bill of Rights<\/em> dinner will be held at the Westin Copley Place Hotel<\/em> in Boston, Massachusetts on Thursday, May 21, at 6:30 PM.
