The second annual Sci-Fest L.A<\/em>. is in progress and several Star Trek<\/em> actors are taking part in this year’s plays.<\/p>\n Sci-Fest L.A.<\/em> presents “new one-acts adapted from some of the giants in the sci-fi and horror fields, including Neil Gaiman, Ray Bradbury<\/strong> and Clive Barker<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n The Trek actors appearing will include Walter Koenig, Nazneen Contractor<\/strong> (Star Trek Into Darkness<\/em>), and Tucker Smallwood<\/strong> (Star Trek: Enterprise<\/em>).<\/p>\n There are two programs which play on alternate days. Each program “consists of four or five plays lasting ten to twenty minutes each.”<\/p>\n Koenig will be appearing in one of the Program B plays, Efficiency<\/em>. In Efficiency,<\/em> directed by Jaime Robledo<\/strong>, a “ruthless dictator demands a meeting with a horrifically wounded soldier who (with the help of ‘replacement parts’) has been transformed into an unstoppable killing machine.”<\/p>\n Contractor and Smallwood will be appearing in one of the Program A plays, Human History<\/em>. In Human History<\/em>, directed by Malcolm Barrett <\/strong>and Matthew Leavitt<\/strong>, “far in the future, in a classroom on a distant planet, racial tensions run high as Earth’s history is debated, forgotten and relearned.”<\/p>\n The plays will take place at the Acme Theater<\/em> at 135 N. La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles. Tickets cost $20-25 (online) or $25-30 (in person).
