Canadian television viewers will get to see William Shatner<\/strong> as a guest star on Murdoch Mysteries<\/em> later this year.<\/p>\n

Murdoch Mysteries<\/em> is currently in production for its ninth season, due to air on CBC<\/em> this autumn.<\/p>\n

Shatner will take on the role of Mark Twain<\/strong> in his guest appearance. Actor Yannick Bisson<\/strong>, who plays William Murdoch on the series, tweeted out the news with a photo of the call sheet for the episode.<\/p>\n

“Based on the series of novels by Maureen Jennings<\/strong>, Murdoch Mysteries<\/em> is set at the turn of the 20th century and revolves around Detective William Murdoch of the Toronto constabulary, who uses ground-breaking forensic techniques to close his cases.”<\/p>\n

“On the set of Murdoch Mysteries<\/em> with @yannick_bisson,” said Shatner, via his Tumblr<\/em> site. “I play Mark Twain look for me coming soon!” Shatner included a photo of himself as Mark Twain.<\/p>\n

Murdoch Mysteries<\/em> will air on CBC<\/em> in the autumn, and next year on UKTV’s Alibi Channel<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
