Childhood’s End<\/em>, the SyFy<\/em> miniseries that will feature Colm Meaney<\/strong>, will be airing in December.<\/p>\n

The six-hour miniseries will be based on the Arthur C. Clarke<\/strong> novel of the same name.<\/p>\n

TrekToday<\/em> reported on this story earlier this year<\/a>, but at that time, no airdate had been announced.<\/p>\n

“Childhood’s End<\/em> follows the peaceful invasion of Earth by the alien Overlords, who promise to eliminate poverty, war and sickness \u2013 ushering in a golden age of peace, health and security for all of humankind. But why do the Overlords insist on hiding their appearance \u2013 and what do they ultimately want from Earth? While much of the world enjoys its newfound utopia, some suspect there’s a price to pay. As the truth about the Overlords’ intentions [is] revealed, humanity will discover its actual destiny may actually be a nightmare, instead of a dream.”<\/p>\n

Meaney will take on the role of Wainwright in the production, a “powerful, confident owner of a major news organization.”<\/p>\n

Childhood’s End<\/em> will air over three consecutive nights, beginning Monday, December 14. The series will run from 8 to 10 PM (ET) each night on SyFy<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
