A special performance of Star Trek Live in Concert<\/em> will be held next month in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

The performance of Star Trek into Darkness<\/em> will be in honor of the American Youth Symphony<\/em>, who will be performing at the event.<\/p>\n

The Star Trek Live in Concert<\/em> will feature David Newman<\/strong> as conductor, and Jon Burlingame<\/strong> as host. Michael Giacchino<\/strong> will be there as a special guest for the event.<\/p>\n

“I was so excited when David (Newman) called to say that the American Youth Symphony<\/em> wanted to perform Star Trek Into Darkness<\/em> live to picture,” said Giacchino. “What a thrill it was to give these incredibly talented rising professionals an opportunity to perform the Los Angeles premiere of a project that has been played by some of the finest orchestras in the country, such as The Philadelphia Orchestra<\/em> and The National Symphony Orchestra<\/em>, a project that has been heard in cities all over the world from London to Melbourne, from Houston to San Francisco.<\/p>\n

“It is particularly meaningful that this type of event be presented in Los Angeles, the home of film music. The American Youth Symphony<\/em> does a tremendous service by including film score music in their programs to ensure that audiences can experience the breadth of orchestral music available today. I look forward to hearing and watching Star Trek Into Darkness<\/em> at the beautiful Royce Hall<\/em> with everyone on September 27th.”<\/p>\n
