{"id":41703,"date":"2015-09-09T10:56:47","date_gmt":"2015-09-09T17:56:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=41703"},"modified":"2015-09-09T10:56:47","modified_gmt":"2015-09-09T17:56:47","slug":"shatner-on-kansas-state-band-fine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2015\/09\/shatner-on-kansas-state-band-fine\/","title":{"rendered":"Shatner On Kansas State Band Fine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last weekend, a <em>Kansas State<\/em> halftime football show caused quite a stir, resulting in a $5000 fine for the school.<\/p>\n<p>A routine that showed the <em>USS Enterprise<\/em> attacking a <em>Kansas Jayhawks<\/em> mascot was deemed inappropriate.<\/p>\n<p>The routine, seen below, brought complaints that the alleged <em>Enterprise<\/em> was really male genitalia and that the attack on the <em>Jayhawk<\/em> was really a sexual act.<\/p>\n<p>Most who saw it, including this reporter, didn&#8217;t see any such thing. The band wouldn&#8217;t win awards for its depiction of the <em>Enterprise<\/em>, but it looked nothing like a male penis.<\/p>\n<p>Shatner agreed with the majority. &#8220;I think it&#8217;s time for the <em>@Big12Conference<\/em> leaders to step down and get their eyes checked,&#8221; he said, via <em>Twitter<\/em>. &#8220;What a travesty! I wonder if Mother Nature needs to apologize for cloud formations with these same people?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>What do you think?
