{"id":42062,"date":"2015-11-02T09:33:40","date_gmt":"2015-11-02T17:33:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=42062"},"modified":"2015-11-02T09:54:37","modified_gmt":"2015-11-02T17:54:37","slug":"new-trailer-for-copdnimoy-tribute-film","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2015\/11\/new-trailer-for-copdnimoy-tribute-film\/","title":{"rendered":"New Trailer For COPD\/Nimoy Tribute Film"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A trailer for <em>COPD: Highly Illogical \u2014 A Special Tribute to Leonard Nimoy<\/em> has been released.<\/p>\n<p>The documentary, produced by Nimoy&#8217;s daughter <strong>Julie Nimoy<\/strong> and her husband <strong>David Knight<\/strong>, will &#8220;educate viewers about COPD through Nimoy&#8217;s and others&#8217; personal stories of courage, as well as the latest information about treatments and the quest for a cure.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>John de Lancie<\/strong>, best-known to Trek fans for his role as Q, will be narrating the documentary.<\/p>\n<p>Nimoy was diagnosed with COPD in 2013, and spend his last years seeking to educate people about the &#8220;common but often undiagnosed disease,&#8221; via social and traditional media.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Generations of science fiction fans know my father, Leonard Nimoy, as his iconic character Mr. Spock on the Starship Enterprise,&#8221; said Julie Nimoy. &#8220;His message, &#8216;Live Long and Prosper,&#8217; has resonated through the generations and become a siren call for those of like mind.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;After Dad&#8217;s untimely passing due to complications related to COPD, my husband and I committed ourselves to continuing his message through a very special project \u2014 a documentary dedicated to my father titled <em>COPD: Highly Illogical\u2014A Special Tribute to Leonard Nimoy<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The documentary is being funded through donations, and has reached the halfway mark of the $500,000 needed.
