{"id":42245,"date":"2015-12-01T13:24:17","date_gmt":"2015-12-01T21:24:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=42245"},"modified":"2015-12-01T13:24:17","modified_gmt":"2015-12-01T21:24:17","slug":"lindelof-star-trek-into-darkness-mistake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2015\/12\/lindelof-star-trek-into-darkness-mistake\/","title":{"rendered":"Lindelof: Star Trek Into Darkness Mistake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Damon Lindelof<\/strong> admits that one decision made during the filming of <em>Star Trek into Darkness<\/em> may have been a mistake.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview about <em>The Leftovers<\/em>, Lindelof spoke about learning when to be mysterious and when that works against one.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That&#8217;s the thing that I&#8217;m trying to learn, because it&#8217;s completely and totally situational,&#8221; he said. &#8220;When we did <em>Star Trek Into Darkness<\/em> for example, we decided that we weren\u2019t going to tell people that <strong>Benedict Cumberbatch<\/strong> was playing Khan. And that was a mistake, because the audience was like, &#8216;We know he&#8217;s playing Khan.&#8217; That was why it was a mistake. But <strong>J.J.<\/strong> [<strong>Abrams<\/strong>] is telling us nothing about the new<em> Star Wars<\/em> movie and we love it.
