{"id":42846,"date":"2016-03-01T10:29:02","date_gmt":"2016-03-01T18:29:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=42846"},"modified":"2016-03-01T10:29:02","modified_gmt":"2016-03-01T18:29:02","slug":"no-delay-for-axanar-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2016\/03\/no-delay-for-axanar-case\/","title":{"rendered":"No Delay For Axanar Case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A request from<em> CBS Corporation\/Paramount<\/em> for more time to respond to a <em>Axanar&#8217;<\/em>s motion for dismissal of the lawsuit was denied by the judge on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The three week delay had been requested because an attorney was involved in an unrelated trial that would &#8220;complicate the timeline in filing the request.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>With the denial, <em>CBS<\/em> and <em>Paramount<\/em> had to file a response to <em>Axanar<\/em>&#8216;s motion by yesterday, and <em>Axanar<\/em>&#8216;s deadline to rebut it was March 7, with a final hearing on their motion set for March 21st.<\/p>\n<p>A motion for dismissal is something that is standard on the part of a legal team for a defendant.
