Abrams<\/strong> will tell the stories of sixteen teams who are competing for a prize.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Google Lunar X Prize<\/em> was announced in 2007, and it &#8220;called on privately-funded spaceflight teams to aim to be the first to land a robotic spacecraft on the moon&#8221; by 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The teams are competing to &#8220;complete a lunar landing, have their rover travel 500 meters, and beam back high-def images to Earth,&#8221; and the team who does it first will walk away with thirty million dollars in prizes.<\/p>\n<p>The documentary is being produced by <em>Bad Robot<\/em>, Abrams, and <strong>Orlando von Einsiedel<\/strong>.
