{"id":42890,"date":"2016-03-09T11:30:05","date_gmt":"2016-03-09T19:30:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=42890"},"modified":"2016-03-09T11:30:05","modified_gmt":"2016-03-09T19:30:05","slug":"moonves-star-trek-streaming-had-to-wait","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2016\/03\/moonves-star-trek-streaming-had-to-wait\/","title":{"rendered":"Moonves: Star Trek Streaming Had To Wait"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At a conference held yesterday, <em>CBS Corporation<\/em> President <strong>Les Moonves<\/strong> explained that the split in ownership between <em>CBS<\/em> and <em>Paramount<\/em> resulted in a delay for the new series which will debut next year.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When [<em>CBS<\/em>] split from<em> Viacom<\/em> ten years ago, January 1, 2006, one of the big sticking points, as you can imagine, was <em>Star Trek<\/em>,&#8221; explained Moonves. &#8220;You know, we both wanted it.<\/p>\n<p>They said &#8216;It&#8217;s a movie!&#8217; and I said, &#8216;No, no, no, it&#8217;s a TV show.&#8217; Actually, we&#8217;re both right.
