{"id":43253,"date":"2016-05-02T11:16:11","date_gmt":"2016-05-02T18:16:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=43253"},"modified":"2016-05-03T09:48:48","modified_gmt":"2016-05-03T16:48:48","slug":"cbs-rents-space-for-trek-tv-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2016\/05\/cbs-rents-space-for-trek-tv-show\/","title":{"rendered":"UPDATED &#8211; CBS Rents Space For Trek TV Show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As rumored last week, the new <em>Star Trek<\/em> television show will be filming in Toronto, Canada.<\/p>\n<p><em>CBS<\/em> has rented <em>Pinewood Toronto Studio<\/em>s&#8217; 46,500-square-foot mega-stage according to the Hollywood Reporter.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are very near capacity, and yes, Vancouver is ahead in terms of studio infrastructure, but our clients tell us they prefer to be in Toronto whenever possible, for many reasons,&#8221; said <em>Cinespace<\/em> Vice President<strong> Jim Mirkopoulos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Pinewood Toronto Studios<\/em>, built in 2008, features more than 250,000 square feet of production space and backlots, and is located a short distance from downtown Toronto. There are twelve stages in the complex, as well as localized support facilities and office space.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Thing, Total Recall, Carrie, Pacific Rim<\/em> and<em> RoboCop<\/em> have all been filmed at<em> Pinewood Toronto Studios<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>UPDATE: In a tweet from <em>CBS TV Studios,<\/em> the rental is confirmed. &#8220;This just in!
