This is the Captain&#8230;we&#8217;re being decommissioned,&#8221; said <strong>Joe Geragi<\/strong>, who was to have starred as Matt Decker in the prequel to the original series episode <em>The Doomsday Machine<\/em>. &#8220;Due to the <em>Axanar<\/em> lawsuit and the ripple effect from it, <em>CBS<\/em> is actively protecting their Star Trek Intellectual Property, as is their right, and appear to be ending fan fiction, an activity that was once allowed and encouraged pre-<em>Axanar<\/em>. Because of this, <em>Star Trek: Constellation<\/em> is ending its development and pre-production activities.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We were not contacted by <em>CBS<\/em>&#8230;this decision is strictly voluntary given the current circumstances.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>After thanking the fans of <em>Star Trek: Constellation<\/em>, Geragi gave a glimmer of hope for the future saying, &#8220;I truly regret that Decker&#8217;s backstory will not get to see the light of day, at least in the immediate future.
