{"id":44148,"date":"2016-07-26T10:56:18","date_gmt":"2016-07-26T17:56:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=44148"},"modified":"2016-07-26T10:56:18","modified_gmt":"2016-07-26T17:56:18","slug":"nichols-releases-single","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2016\/07\/nichols-releases-single\/","title":{"rendered":"Nichols Releases Single"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Nichelle Nichols<\/strong>, who began her career as a singer, has released a single, called <em>Fly Me to the Moon<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The release was timed to coincide with the forty-seventh anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing.<\/p>\n<p>Produced by <strong>David Salas<\/strong>,<em> Fly Me to the Moon<\/em> is a &#8220;brilliant rendition of <strong>Bart Howard<\/strong>&#8216;s immortal standard.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to a press release announcing the single, &#8220;Ms. Nichols was thrilled to record <em>Fly Me to the Moon<\/em> at the famous <em>Salas Studios<\/em>, to further accentuate her belief in diversity in music and culture, in the performing and recording arts.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;All of my<em> Star Trek<\/em> fans have truly become like my family,&#8221; said Nichols. &#8220;When I decided to record <em>Fly Me to the Moon. <\/em>It was my way to give back to every one of them.
