{"id":44197,"date":"2016-08-02T10:59:57","date_gmt":"2016-08-02T17:59:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=44197"},"modified":"2016-08-02T11:00:53","modified_gmt":"2016-08-02T18:00:53","slug":"star-trek-discovery-rumor-mill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2016\/08\/star-trek-discovery-rumor-mill\/","title":{"rendered":"Star Trek: Discovery Rumor Mill"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Several rumors have come out regarding <em>Star Trek: Discovery<\/em>, which will debut in January.<\/p>\n<p>According to Executive Producer <strong>Heather Kadin<\/strong>, when asked if the show would have LGBT characters in it, she said, &#8220;Obviously, that&#8217;s important to <strong>Bryan<\/strong> [<strong>Fuller<\/strong>], so that&#8217;s very important to all of us to portray.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, <em>Ain&#8217;t It Cool News<\/em> is claiming that the series will take place before the original series. &#8220;There&#8217;s a big clue in the number of the ship [NCC-1031] that indicates when we&#8217;re set,&#8221; said Fuller.<\/p>\n<p>The news site also asked about Section 31, and if it was coincidental that there was a 31 at the end of its registry number. &#8220;There are aspects of our first season that, depending on how well versed you are in that mythology, you could either read into it a connection,&#8221; said Fuller.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>More news on the series should come out on August 10, when Fuller will be part of a <em>Star Trek<\/em> panel at the <em>Television Critics Association<\/em> summer press tour.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Several rumors have come out regarding Star Trek: Discovery, which will debut in January.
