{"id":44284,"date":"2016-08-18T12:27:35","date_gmt":"2016-08-18T19:27:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=44284"},"modified":"2016-08-18T12:27:35","modified_gmt":"2016-08-18T19:27:35","slug":"takei-in-zero-gravity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2016\/08\/takei-in-zero-gravity\/","title":{"rendered":"Takei In Zero Gravity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>George Takei<\/strong> got to experience floating in zero gravity yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>The actor and his husband Brad joined twenty fans who had each paid $6,500 to ride in the special commercial aircraft which &#8220;achieves an altitude that simulates weightless free fall.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rod Roddenberry<\/strong>, son of <strong>Gene Roddenberry<\/strong>, also took part in the flight, in a joint collaboration between <em>Roddenberry Adventures<\/em> and <em>The Zero Gravity Corporation<\/em>, who provides the zero gravity experience.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are so happy we could celebrate [Trek&#8217;s Fiftieth Anniversary] with George and his fans,&#8221; said <strong>Terese Brewster<\/strong>, President and COO of<em> Zero Gravity<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Roddenberry Adventures<\/em> is an &#8220;adventure club&#8230;embedded with the philosophies of <em>Star Trek<\/em>&#8221; which includes activities such as scuba diving trips, a Hawaii Trek convention and the &#8216;zero g&#8217; adventure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>George Takei got to experience floating in zero gravity yesterday.
