{"id":44578,"date":"2016-09-26T10:20:50","date_gmt":"2016-09-26T17:20:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=44578"},"modified":"2016-09-26T10:20:50","modified_gmt":"2016-09-26T17:20:50","slug":"two-trek-themed-cruises-in-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2016\/09\/two-trek-themed-cruises-in-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Two Trek-Themed Cruises in 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last month, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/2016\/08\/star-trek-the-cruise-ii\/\">TrekToday reported<\/a> that Star Trek: <em>The Cruise II<\/em> would take place in January 2018, now comes word that there will be a second Trek-themed cruise that month.<\/p>\n<p>As with the first 2018 cruise, which takes place January 5 and sails for six days, the second cruise will be hosted by <strong>George Takei<\/strong> and will also take place on the<em> Norwegian Jade<\/em>, which sails from Miami to the Western Caribbean.<\/p>\n<p>The second cruise will leave on January 11 and sail for five days.<\/p>\n<p>The cruises will be a &#8220;fully immersive experience&#8221; for Trek fans, who can &#8220;hang out in specially redesigned spaces of the ship \u2014 such as &#8216;<em>Sandrine&#8217;s II<\/em>&#8216; restaurant (a &#8216;sister&#8217; to the restaurant of<em> Chez Sandrine<\/em> on <em>Star Trek: Voyager<\/em>) and the <em>13 Forward bar<\/em> (influenced by <em>Ten Forward<\/em> on <em>Star Trek: The Next Generation<\/em>).&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Trek actors who have signed up for the cruise include <strong>Brent Spiner, LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Gates McFadden, Terry Farrell, Rene Auberjonois<\/strong>, and <strong>Ethan Phillips<\/strong>.
